A Moment of Rest and Restoration: Tapping into the Body’s Inner Wisdom
14 June 2021 | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

CYA invites you to treat yourself to a bit of quiet and simply being during this season of reemergence on Monday, June 14th, 6:00 PM.
“A Moment of Rest and Restoration: Tapping into the Body’s Inner Wisdom” is an experiential session on Zoom that will allow Yalies to experience restorative yoga, a practice that focuses on slow, deep stretching and inner connection with the mind, body, and heart. Any body may participate as the practice is incredibly gentle, as any posture can be modified, and as research is now showing that simply lying still and doing the practice in one’s mind is just as beneficial as physically practicing yoga. Following yoga, for those who’d like to share, we’ll hold space as a community (aka, Q&A).
Props: yoga mat, blocks, bolster, blankets. Or any pillows or blankets you have around. The more the better. Bodies will be very gently held and supported by these props.
Liz Foglesong ’07 teaches restorative and yoga nidra lessons internationally. She has training in several holistic healing modalities: polarity, holding space, yoga nidra, CYT-200. She also partly credits these practices with the healing of her own serious health issues. Liz also tutors middle school and high school students in math and science and coaches founders of startups and those leading innovative, change-making movements.
